Mac Patrick, Chief Consultant and President of
Process Advantage Technology, Inc. and Chairman and Managing Director of
Process Improvement Asia (Shanghai) Ltd. has been in independent practice since 1990.
A graduate of Saint Mary's College of California, his major field of study
is management and software engineering. He works with customers to unlock
the power of their processes through consulting, benchmarking, assessment,
modeling, simulation and training. Prior to founding Process Advantage
Technology he was Benchmarking Manager for in the telecommunications industry.
His twenty years of telecommunications industry experience included
managing technical staff in software programming services, quality
assurance and software process support, as well as leading corporate
participation in the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) process
assessment program, contributing to development work on SEI's Capability
Maturity Model. He has developed and provided software and support to the
national non-profit volunteer community. He helped organize several
interest forums supporting quality and process improvement, including the
Bay Area Quality Assurance Association, the Telecommunications Industry
Benchmarking Consortium, the Bay Area SPIN,
and the International Benchmarking Clearinghouse. As consultant, facilitator, coach, teacher, and problem solver, Mac has supported successful improvement change efforts with people in twelve countries on three continents over the last fifteen years. His practical experience in management and in all aspects of technical development ground his contributions in real-world technical issues. He is an SEI Certified SCAMPI Lead Appraiser for CMMI V 1.2, is an SEI Certified High Maturity Lead Appraiser (L4,L5 appraisals) and is authorized to use SCAMPI for P-CMM appraisals. He is a Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute and observes candidate SCAMPI Lead Appraisers as part of the SCAMPI Quality Program.
